Clean Team – Laundry Volunteer

Duties:

Clean Team Dishes Volunteers are essential members of the volunteer team.

Duties:

• Volunteers ensure that towels, beds, and blankets are washed/dried and folded ready to use with our dogs and cats.
• Volunteers help to distribute clean towels throughout the shelter and assist keeping up with the continuous dirty laundry!
• Volunteers will be working with cleaning materials such as laundry detergent and bleach.

Qualifications:

• A willing attitude and a genuine care for people and animals are essential. Frequent Standing, bending and twisting.
• All Volunteers must attend a general volunteer information session, and orientation.
• Adequate conversational English is required in order that the individual be able to take direction, understand how to complete job tasks, communicate adequately with staff, visitors and other volunteers effectively, understand and follow safety guidelines and understand the volunteer guide and all shelter policies.
• As a shelter volunteer, you may be exposed to blood, fluids, excrement, loud or unpleasant noises, and unpleasant odors.
• Volunteers must have the ability to interact with the public, shelter staff and other volunteers in a courteous and respectful manner, even in stressful situations.
• Volunteers must also have the ability to communicate well and follow directions with minimal direct supervision.
• Volunteers must be able to follow all safety protocol and shelter procedures as instructed.
